Rekey, explained
You keep your locks. The keys change.
Rekey is the quiet trick most people don't know about. I open up the lock cylinder, swap the pins, and cut you a brand-new key. Your door hardware doesn't change — only the key that opens it does. It's faster and costs about a third of new locks.

Will rekey change how my keys look?
Nope — your locks stay on the door, I just rebuild the inside so old keys no longer work. You get a fresh set of keys that only you have. Takes about 10 minutes per lock.
Should I rekey or replace my locks?
If your locks are decent quality and working well, rekey. It's roughly a third of the cost of replacement. If they're loose, sticky, or old hardware-store grade, replace — and I'll usually recommend a mid-tier Schlage or Kwikset SmartKey.
Which smart lock should I get?
Depends on how you want to use it. Schlage Encode Plus and Yale Assure 2 for Apple Home Key tap-to-unlock. August if you want to keep your existing deadbolt. Level Bolt if you don't want it to look smart from the outside. I'll help you pick once I see your door.
Do you do lockouts at night?
Yes, 24/7. I answer the phone at 3 a.m. the same as I do at 3 p.m. House lockouts are usually 15–25 minutes on-site with zero damage to your door or lock.
How long does a full rekey take?
A typical 3–5 lock house takes 45 minutes to an hour. I do it right there on your porch — no need to remove doors or leave the house unsecured.
Do I need to buy the smart lock before you come?
Your choice. I can bring popular models with me, or you can buy your own and I'll install and set it up. I'll tell you honestly which option saves you money.
